Our ancestors would have walked the same paths to the same locations generation after generation, imprinting their stories and songs onto the land.

If you listen closely, you can still hear the echoes of those songs and stories today.

Except, in many places, those stories have faded to barely a whisper, if that.

So when I read @eleanor_robins_ Substack post last fall that said: “In our earliest days, humans made meaning by moving through the land, receiving its stories, and embroidering the insights of eternity onto the mountains and rivers and forests, in the form of stories and poems. These stories and poems were passed on, and their truth lived in the encounter between landscapes and humans.” it really struck me the importance of continuing to share our stories with the land.

Often, we ask the land to share with us, which is of course important, but what of ourselves are we contributing to the places where we live?

Are we embroidering our stories and poems and ceremony into the land to be held for future generations?

This is giving me all kinds of ideas for how I want to approach my future ceremonies and relationship with the land where I live.

Can’t wait for the hummingbirds to find their way back to my yard so I can sip my tea and watch their antics all summer long.

And a huge thank you to @kingsyard_official for sending me this new hummingbird feeder!

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve probably been through at least five feeders the past two years. One after another has broken after only a month or so of use so I’m excited for this glass and metal version that should hold up better to thunderstorms, heat and humidity.

And bonus....it has a little water reservoir on top to keep the ants away!

Who’s coming with me?!

But seriously, switching timelines is more subtle than you think, although it might be a journey to get there.

There are literally BILLIONS of other timelines available to each of us in the field of possibility but it does take a bit of intention and action on our part if you want to leave the one you’re in and get somewhere new.

It takes less NPC energy and more main character energy.

And you can’t think your way there. You need to use your heart.

Every intuitive nudge, premonition, idea, or work of art is coming to you from a different timeline and your heart is the one that can feel it, not your brain.

When you have an intuitive hit that you let your brain convince you isn’t real, that’s your mind overriding your heart’s knowing.

So, shush your brain for a bit and ask your heart to show you the way to your next timeline.

It’s Day 1 of my series where I’ll be chatting with nature spirits in my neighborhood and we’re kicking things off with a message from the fairies who live in a very old maple tree in my front yard.

They’re encouraging us to not spend our days in despair for all that is wrong and say that beauty, joy, laughter and fun will change the world faster than anything else we could choose to focus on.

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a snake not immediately head for a safe spot when it saw me but this one just kept exploring after I nearly stepped on it and it didn’t even mind me hanging out with it for a few minutes.
