Dixie. Doodles. Lulu. My little shadow and constan

Dixie. Doodles. Lulu. My little shadow and constant companion for nearly 15 years crossed to the other side last night. ⁣
⁣
She came to me in October of 2010 - a kitten who had lost her mother and siblings and needed to be bottle fed around the clock (and the vet told me would be impossible to do and keep her alive). But she beat the odds and everyone who knew her knew what a badass she was. I think she won every battle she ever fought. Most of them started by her of course 🤦‍♀️⁣

She loved drinking water from the shower but hated to be out in the rain. She loved helping with energy work but didn’t like the fairies. She always wanted to be where I was but didn’t really want to cuddle. She was deaf but knew all of the important words by reading lips or sign language. ⁣
⁣
Although she was a very experienced traveler and has been on at least 10 cross country trips, nothing could have been harder for her than agreeing to leave her life behind and climb into a motorhome with me to travel for six months, not knowing where we would land and start over. But she did it. For me. ⁣
⁣
Life won’t be the same without her but we picked out the best spot in the yard to bury her where she can be the guardian of the garden. Dan dug her grave, we wrapped her in beautiful fabric and laid her to rest this morning on a bed of dried rose petals from our last garden, Arkansas quartz, and…per her request…one of her favorite treats. A burial fit for my very best friend and the most un-catlike cat I’ve ever known. Love you forever. xoxo
